As I return to covering Pools with my new website, The Monkey's Uncle, I wanted to take the time to reflect on the time I spent banned from Victoria Park under former owner Raj Singh in my own words.
From the minute I took the job covering Pools for the Hartlepool Mail in March 2023, I was well aware of the potential perils and pitfalls involved in covering the club.
After all, my predecessor Joe Ramage had endured a lengthy spell banned from the ground and it wasn't until weeks before moving up to Hartlepool that I had confirmation that I was going to be allowed in after the Mail resolved their disputes with Singh.
