Vice-captain Reiss McNally reveals Hartlepool United "has felt a lot more professional" this season.
Since being relegated back to the National League in 2023, Pools have limped to three mid-table finishes in the fifth tier.
Following a hugely turbulent and uncertain summer in 2025, Pools endured another challenging campaign last term before finishing an underwhelming ninth, 11 points outside the play-off places and a remarkable 40 behind champions York City.
Yet Pools have headed into the new campaign with almost unparalleled levels of optimism, confidence and genuine belief after an encouraging summer that saw them welcome 14 new recruits, including the statement signings of Will Harris and Jack Nolan, to Victoria Park.
