Pete Wild unfazed by favourite's tag ahead of Hartlepool United's FA Cup clash with National League North Marine

"The boot's on the other foot a little bit because we've got to try and be the aggressor and they're going to try and be the underdog, we've got to be ready for that and we've got to stand up to what comes with that."

Hartlepool United head coach Pete Wild is unfazed by the favourite's tag ahead of this weekend's FA Cup fourth qualifying round clash against National League North side Marine.

Pools are bidding to avoid being dumped out of England's oldest and most historic cup competition prior to the first round proper for the fourth consecutive season having suffered a series of humiliating defeats in recent years.

Indeed, the club's fortunes in the cup since being relegated back to the National League in 2023 is perhaps a sign of how disappointing a spell Pools have endured of late; having never missed out on the first round of the FA Cup in their entire history, Pools have been knocked out at the fourth qualifying round stage in each of the last three years.
