"There are some great bits, some bits that are not good enough and some bits that we've got to get better at."

Hartlepool United head coach Pete Wild is hoping that Saturday's much-needed 4-2 win over Forest Green Rovers could be the turning point in his new side's season.

Pools ended a dismal run of six successive National League defeats with an impressive victory over managerless Forest Green, Wild's first win since taking charge earlier this month.

Having been talked up as possible title contenders ahead of the new campaign, Pools won each of their opening two games without conceding before a run of nine losses in 10 matches saw them plummet down the table and into the bottom four.

In the midst of increasing pressure from a frustrated fanbase, head coach Lee Clark, who was only appointed in May, resigned from his role in dramatic circumstances towards the end of September, announcing his sudden decision in the immediate aftermath of his side's defeat to newly-promoted Worthing.
