Head coach Pete Wild revealed he held "a good discussion" about the prospect of strengthening his Hartlepool United squad this week.

Pools welcomed a whole raft of new signings over the summer and were touted as potential National League title contenders ahead of the campaign but find themselves languishing in 20th, only above the relegation zone on goal difference, in the table following a torrid start to the season.

While a handful of the club's new additions have settled in well to life at Victoria Park - Chelsea loanee Max Merrick enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign before being sidelined through injury, while Neo Eccleston has established himself as a popular figure thanks to his energy and enthusiasm - plenty more have struggled so far this term.
