Pete Wild calls on Hartlepool United to get better at dealing with pressure

"If you don't want the pressure, go and sign for a club that has a thousand fans. If you want to go and enjoy footie as a manager, go and work for a club that you know has got no fans."

Head coach Pete Wild has called on his Hartlepool United squad to get better at dealing with pressure.

The North East has long been renowned as a footballing hotbed, with Pools fans among the most passionate, dedicated and colourful in the entire country.

Yet life as a Pools supporter has been more footballing famine than feast of late, with the club lurching from crisis to crisis off the pitch and at growing risk of becoming stranded in the National League.

Having never before been relegated from the Football League in 89 seasons, Pools have spent eight of the last 10 campaigns in the fifth tier while there are even concerns that the club risk being sucked into a relegation battle this term.
