Pete Wild believes Hartlepool United have added experience, leadership and quality with recent new signings

"The market that we're fishing in at the moment is a tough one because, unless you're going to pay money for players, you're not going to get the player who is playing every week and is the ready-made article. You're getting the ones who aren't getting what they want at their parent-clubs."

Pete Wild believes Hartlepool United have added experience, leadership and quality thanks to the recent signings of Jack Earing, Max Clark and Sam Lavelle.

Wild, who was appointed Pools head coach at the beginning of the month following Lee Clark's dramatic resignation, has wasted little time in making his mark on his new squad.

Although, more or less, Wild will have to work with the squad he's inherited, assembled largely by Clark, de facto director of football Chris Maxwell and head of recruitment Chris Beech, he has been given license to strengthen the current crop in recent weeks.
