Head coach Pete Wild believes Cole Deeming is "getting better and better" at Hartlepool United.

Following a relatively slow start to life at Victoria Park, the teenager came of age as he produced an outstanding performance during Saturday's agonising 4-3 defeat to National League leaders Boreham Wood.

Having conceded the penalty that led to Danny Cashman's opening goal in Hertfordshire - Wild slammed the decision to award a spot-kick for an apparent high boot as "absolutely ridiculous" after the diminutive frontman lowered his head to the ball as Deeming challenged - the 19-year-old helped to inspire a remarkable comeback at Meadow Park.
