Pete Wild admits 'there's a lot of work still to do' following Hartlepool United's much-needed win over managerless Forest Green Rovers

"I just said to the players, commit to our in possession stuff and just go for it. That first 15 minutes of the second half were brilliant in possession, I thought they were great."

Hartlepool United head coach Pete Wild admits "there's a lot of work still to do" following his side's much-needed 4-2 win over managerless Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

Having been narrowly beaten by strugglers Tamworth during his first game in charge, Wild secured his first victory as Pools boss thanks to an impressive showing in Gloucestershire against a rudderless Forest Green.

Supporters and Wild himself likely breathed a big sigh of relief on Saturday as Pools ended a dismal run of six successive defeats.

Having been talked up as potential National League title contenders ahead of the new campaign, Pools won both of their opening two matches without conceding before a run of nine losses in 10 games saw them plummet down the table and into the relegation zone.
