Neo Eccleston hailed Hartlepool United as "a massive football club with a proud history" after he agreed a one-year deal at Victoria Park.
The young defender, who is comfortable at right-back or in a more advanced role, became the club's 10th summer signing on Thursday.
Having released 13 players following the end of another underwhelming National League campaign, Pools have been working hard to assemble a squad capable of challenging for promotion next term.
While Lee Clark's side have added experience in the form of veteran striker Jordan Hugill as well as proven quality thanks to the signings of Will Harris, who scored 25 goals in 46 games for Halifax Town last season, and Jack Nolan, fresh from an outstanding individual campaign with Morecambe, the club have also focused on young talent with plenty of potential.
