Hartlepool United midfielder Nathan Sheron has been named in the National League team of the week following his impressive showing against Forest Green Rovers.

The 29-year-old marked his 100th appearance by ending a run of 35 games without scoring, bagging a brace as Pools halted a dismal run of six successive defeats in Gloucestershire.

The tough-tackling midfielder, who by his own admission has endured a challenging start to the campaign, was in the right place at the right time to bundle home his side's second goal at The New Lawn before rifling a superb strike from distance into the roof of the net three minutes from time as Pools secured a much-needed 4-2 win over managerless Forest Green.
