Midfielder Nathan Sheron is confident Hartlepool United are "only going to get better" under new head coach Pete Wild.

Sheron scored twice as Pools ended a dismal run of six successive defeats by getting the better of managerless Forest Green Rovers 4-2 at the weekend, their first win since the appointment of Wild.

The 29-year-old, who admitted recent criticism had been "tough" for himself and his teammates, marked his 100th Pools appearance with a brace, ending a run of 35 matches without scoring.

After veteran Jordan Hugill had put the visitors in front from the penalty spot in Gloucestershire, his first goal since sealing a permanent return to Victoria Park in the summer, Sheron extended their advantage three minutes into the second half.
