Luke Charman hails Pete Wild's 'massive impact' at Hartlepool United

"There's no magic solution. It's hard work, it's repeating the same things every day on the training pitch and having the right mentality to push ourselves."

Luke Charman has revealed that new head coach Pete Wild has had "a massive impact" at Hartlepool United.

Charman, who has endured a frustrating campaign that has been blighted by injuries thus far, came off the bench to score a late winner during Saturday's remarkable comeback victory over Hornchurch, his first goal of the season.

Having picked up an injury in pre-season following a collision with Grimsby Town goalkeeper Christy Pym, Charman returned fleetingly in September before another setback earlier this month saw him sidelined once again.

After being passed fit enough to feature on the bench at the weekend, the 29-year-old produced the match-winning moment just five minutes after his introduction, curling a superb first-time effort into the top corner from the edge of the box.
