Hartlepool United head coach Lee Clark refused to be drawn on links with young goalkeeper Kit Margetson.
Pools, who used four different goalkeepers last season, have been on the hunt for a new number one in-between the sticks all summer after releasing Nick Hayes, who endured an uncertain spell in the North East, in May.
Having made 11 summer signings so far, a new first choice goalkeeper appears to be among the final pieces of the puzzle for Clark as Pools look to assemble a squad capable of challenging for promotion back to the Football League next term.
Although Pools already have player-coach Adam Smith on their books, while youngster Harry Conyard signed his first professional deal earlier this summer, Clark and head of recruitment Chris Beech have made no secret of their desire to recruit a new number one.
