Head coach Lee Clark insists he wasn't surprised by how Hartlepool United struggled to deal with Sutton United's physicality during Saturday's 2-1 defeat in South London.
Having won each of their opening two National League matches without conceding, Pools were on the wrong end of their first defeat of the new campaign at Gander Green Lane over the weekend.
While Pools were without first choice goalkeeper Max Merrick as well as highly rated winger Jack Nolan for the trip to South London, Clark's side were well below their best on Saturday and could have few complaints at heading back to the North East empty handed.
