Head coach Lee Clark has hailed owner Landon Smith as "perfect" for Hartlepool United.

Smith, who is the co-founder of real estate company Tailwind Group, bought Pools from the hugely controversial Raj Singh on New Year's Eve.

The deal, which was completed after just six weeks of negotiations, came as something of a bolt from the blue for Pools fans following a turbulent 2025.

Singh, who is one of the most contentious figures in the club's entire history, presided over a period of almost unparalleled division, disaffection and discontent during nearly eight years at the helm.
