Hartlepool United head coach Lee Clark was "delighted" with his side's "exceptional" 2-1 pre-season win over National League North side Spennymoor Town.
Pools continued their 100 per cent start to their pre-season campaign after coming from a goal down to get the better of the Moors, who finished 10th in the National League North last term.
Clark named a strong starting XI that included the likes of Will Harris, who scored 25 goals in 46 games for Halifax Town last season, Jordan Hugill and former Moors man Corey McKeown.
Despite creating a host of chances in the opening exchanges - Harris and McKeown both came close while Brooklyn Ilunga lashed an effort against the woodwork in the 17th minute - the visitors found themselves a goal down eight minutes into the second half when Danny Johnson, who failed to score in 30 appearances at Victoria Park last term, freed fellow former Pools man Richie Bennet to loft the ball into the back of the net.
