Hartlepool United head coach Lee Clark insists his players "don't need to be picked up" following their agonising 1-0 defeat at home to Eastleigh on Friday.
Having played almost the entirety of the second half with 10 men following Neo Eccleston's controversial red card, Pools had been on the cusp of securing a battling point when Nelson Khumbeni's thunderous strike in the seventh and final minute of added time condemned them to a second successive defeat.
While it goes without saying that Pools will have been bitterly disappointed to have lost a game they would surely have been expected to win, there were plenty of positives for Clark to take from a spirited, gritty and determined second half showing.
