Hartlepool United head coach Lee Clark has backed new signing Chris Popov to bring "intelligence" and "versatility" to Victoria Park next season.
Having released 13 players following the end of another underwhelming National League campaign in May, Pools have enjoyed a productive summer in the transfer market so far, welcoming nine new recruits.
In particular, Pools have been working hard to redress well-documented issues in front of goal. Indeed, Pools were among the division's lowest scorers last season and failed to find the target in 15 of their 49 matches.
