Despite being touted as possible title contenders ahead of the new National League campaign, three successive defeats has seen Pools slump to 14th after their first five matches.

While Pools appear to have problems to solve all over the pitch, a lack of goals - indeed, at times a lack of any semblance of threat in the final third whatsoever - looks to be among the most glaring issues.

Having struggled for goals last term, failing to find the net in 15 of their 49 matches in all competitions, Pools welcomed a whole host of new attacking recruits over the summer.
