Striker Jordan Hugill insists that "no one's giving up" despite Hartlepool United's bitterly disappointing start to the new season.

Even the most pessimistic of Pools fans would surely have struggled to envisage their side enduring quite such a difficult start to the campaign.

Having been touted as possible National League title contenders during the summer, Pools find themselves at genuine risk of being dragged into a relegation battle after losing nine of their opening 13 league matches.

After winning each of their first two games without conceding, getting the better of relegated Barrow before edging past Aldershot Town, a dismal run of results has seen Pools plummet down the table.
