Former Hartlepool United winger Jermaine Francis is hoping Sutton United can challenge for promotion this season ahead of a reunion with his old side at the weekend.

The 24-year-old scored three times in 22 appearances for Pools last term before completing a permanent move to Sutton, where he has found the net once in 17 matches so far.

The attacker is set to reunite with his former team in South London on Saturday as both Pools and the Us look to maintain their perfect starts to their respective National League campaigns.

While Pools, who began the season as one of the promotion favourites, have beaten Barrow 2-0 before getting the better of a spirited Aldershot Town side 1-0 last time out, Sutton have themselves won each of their opening two matches without conceding, thrashing Woking on the opening day and edging past Altrincham last week.
