Hartlepool United expert Rob Law has revealed that Pools pulled out all the stops to sign highly rated attacker Jack Nolan.
Pools fended off significant competition from a whole host of rival National League and Football League clubs to complete a deal for the 25-year-old, who scored 19 goals in 40 games for Morecambe last term.
While Pools still have plenty of work to do if they're to assemble a squad capable of challenging for promotion next season, Lee Clark's side have made a strong start to their summer business and have already welcomed four new recruits to Victoria Park.
Law, who is one of the most recognisable and well-respected broadcasters in the North East thanks in large part to his work with BBC Radio Tees, was full of praise for the club's progress in the wake of the "statement" signing of Nolan.
