Hartlepool United player-coach Adam Smith has hailed "a real feeling of optimism" after committing his future to Pools for another season.

The veteran goalkeeper, who has made 33 appearances at Victoria Park since signing for the club in the summer of 2024, penned a new one-year contract that will see him remain with Pools both as part of the playing squad and coaching staff.
