Hartlepool United defender Neo Eccleston has been named in the National League team of the week following his impressive showing during Saturday's hard-fought 1-0 win over Woking.

Having missed last week's disappointing defeat at the hands of Halifax Town through suspension, the 22-year-old produced an excellent display on his return as Pools ended a dismal run of three successive defeats against the out of sorts Cardinals.

Indeed, the former Huddersfield Town man was crowned man of the match at full time, while head coach Lee Clark hailed him as "a terrific young man" and "a great player".
