Hartlepool United legend Brian Honour is full of optimism as Pools gear up for the 2026/27 campaign.
Honour, who made 384 appearances for Pools and was appointed as the club's matchday ambassador last month, told The Monkey's Uncle he hadn't been as excited about a new season since his playing days.
Like a lot of Poolies, the former midfielder has good reason to feel optimistic following an exciting summer at Victoria Park.
Pools appear to have made significant strides in the right direction on and off the pitch under new owner Landon Smith, who completed his takeover of the club from the hugely controversial Raj Singh on New Year's Eve.
