Former Hartlepool United captain Micky Barron admits he was pleased to see Luke Charman and Jack Hunter agree new deals at Victoria Park.
While Pools have already been busy in the transfer market this summer, completing four signings and fending off significant competition to secure the signature of highly rated winger Jack Nolan, tying Charman and Hunter down could also prove to be important bits of business.
Although Charman has struggled with injuries during time in the North East so far and the 28-year-old missed large parts of last season, scoring three goals in 26 games, his running power, raw pace and combative approach means the versatile attacker can be a real handful for defenders when he's fit and firing.
