Former Hartlepool United boss Dave Challinor has backed Nicky Featherstone to succeed in management.
Featherstone was an integral part of Challinor's promotion-winning squad in 2021, featuring 41 times as Pools clinched a dramatic return to the Football League via a heart-stopping National League play-off final.
Challinor, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest managers in the club's entire history, has remained in close contact with Featherstone ever since the 50-year-old left Pools to take charge of Stockport County in November 2021.
Pools struggled to cope in the wake of Challinor's departure and a remarkable 10 different managers have tried their luck at Victoria Park since he left to take over the Hatters, who he led from the National League to the League One play-off final.
