Hartlepool United president Jeff Stelling has had his say on the club's retained list.

Following another underwhelming National League campaign last season, Pools released 13 players in May, with just a handful remaining under contract in the North East.

It's understood that specialist football consultancy firm Bromby and Partners, who were hired by new owner Landon Smith after he completed his takeover of the club from the hugely controversial Raj Singh, ran the rule over who was set to leave Victoria Park last month.
