Hartlepool United's new head of recruitment Chris Beech feels Pools are making good progress in their pursuit of a new first choice goalkeeper.

Pools have struggled to settle on a number one in-between the sticks ever since the club were relegated back to the National League in 2023.

In the 2023/24 campaign, both Joel Dixon and Pete Jameson were unable to nail down their place as the club's first choice while Pools rotated between Dixon, Brad Young and Adam Smith the following season.

Last term, Pools used a remarkable four different goalkeepers and fans are keenly hoping things will be different this time around.
