Former Hartlepool United attacker Adam Campbell has signed for National League North side South Shields.
The 31-year-old was one of 13 players released by Pools in May at the end of another underwhelming National League campaign after a challenging two seasons at Victoria Park.
The diminutive forward signed for Pools in the summer of 2024 following a successful spell with Crawley Town, scoring seven goals in 48 appearances as the West Sussex side secured an unlikely promotion to League One.
Yet the former Gateshead, Notts County and Darlington man struggled to settle in the North East and never looked comfortable with then-manager Darren Sarll's direct brand of football, losing his place in the side after a difficult start to the 2024/25 campaign.
