Hartlepool United's 100 per cent start to their new National League campaign came to an end on Saturday following a 2-1 defeat to Sutton United.
Pools, who were without goalkeeper Max Merrick and highly rated attacker Jack Nolan in South London, found themselves two goals down inside the opening half an hour following strikes from Temi Babalola and Emmanuel Osadebe but pulled one back before the break thanks to Corey McKeown.
Lee Clark made several attack-minded changes in the second half but Pools, who were lacking quality in the absence of Nolan, never really looked like getting back into the game as they suffered their first defeat of the season against an extremely physical Us side.
