Hartlepool United's woeful recent run continued as Pools were condemned to their sixth defeat in seven National League matches, going down 3-1 to newly-promoted Worthing.
Having made a bright enough start to what felt like a must-win game for under-pressure head coach Lee Clark, Pools went behind 10 minutes before the break when the marauding Cory Adjetey-Brew took advantage of some poor defending to head home his first senior goal.
Things went from bad to worse for embattled Pools when Ricky Aguiar produced a superb volley in the 59th minute, lashing home his second goal in as many matches.
