Tom Crawford came back to haunt Hartlepool United as Pools were condemned to their fifth defeat in six National League matches, losing 2-1 to Altrincham on Wednesday night.
Pressure is beginning to mount on head coach Lee Clark after Pools endured another difficult evening in Greater Manchester.
Pools went behind after 28 minutes when veteran Kane Hemmings beat Nathan Fisher from the penalty spot after Nathan Sheron was deemed to have committed a foul inside the area.
The visitors drew level three minutes before half time when Jamie Miley, impressive in the first half, headed home his first goal of the season from close range.
