Hartlepool United name strong team for National League Cup clash against Newcastle's Premier League 2 side

Having fielded young teams in each of their opening two fixtures in the divisive cup competition, a humiliating 10-0 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough as well as a narrow 1-0 loss to Everton, new head coach Pete Wild vowed to treat this week's match against Newcastle as a first team game.

True to his word, Wild is set to take charge of a strong team that includes the likes of Reiss McNally, who captains the side in the absence of Jack Hunter, Nathan Sheron, who scored twice in Saturday's much-needed win over Forest Green Rovers, Will Harris, Jack Nolan and new signing Max Clark.
