Pete Wild has confirmed that both Max Thompson and Jack Earing have left Hartlepool United.

Speaking after Pools were beaten 3-1 by AFC Fylde on Tuesday night, their first defeat in three National League matches, Wild revealed that the pair had both left the club after brief stays at Victoria Park.

Earing, who was Wild's first signing since replacing Lee Clark as head coach, joined Pools on October 8 but made just one appearance in the North East.

The attacking-midfielder, signed in a bid to help solve Pools' problems in the final third, played under Wild during a successful spell with Halifax Town, scoring eight goals in 32 games during the 2020/21 campaign.
