Where did it all go so wrong for Hartlepool United and Lee Clark?

Clark’s summer appointment at Hartlepool United came with an influx of optimism, but after just nine games, a drop of almost 2,000 home fans in attendance since the first fixture shows how quickly the optimism has vanished.

Worthing’s 3-1 victory away at Victoria Park proved to be Clark’s last game in charge of the hosts following his resignation post-match.

With six losses in their last seven, Hartlepool’s start to the season has been far below expectations. Conversely, Adam Hinshelwood’s Worthing have enjoyed a start which has vastly exceeded many fans’ expectations.
