Max Merrick: 7

Started the game nervously and appeared to handle the ball outside his area following a mix-up with Maxim Kouogun but grew in stature as the afternoon progressed. Distribution needs a lot of work but the Chelsea youngster made a couple of fine saves to deny Mark Helm and did well to keep hold of a venomous effort late on. Doesn't look the biggest or broadest but came to collect a cross in the second half and can afford to feel pleased with a first Pools clean sheet.

Jay Benn: 7

Solid in the first half before being replaced at the break. Was rarely troubled defensively but was full of his usual energy, industry and effort, making a handful of threatening forward runs and swinging several searching balls into Fleetwood's box.
