Hartlepool United are set to begin their new National League campaign next week and it's hard to remember the last time Pools fans headed into a season with quite the same level of optimism, confidence and genuine belief.
After all, Pools, who are currently rated as the 11/2 second favourites to be crowned champions next term, appear to have enjoyed an extremely productive summer having welcomed 14 new recruits to Victoria Park.
Having struggled for goals last season - indeed, Pools were among the National League's lowest scorers in 2025/26, failing to find the net in 15 of their 49 matches in all competitions - Lee Clark's side have prioritised strengthening in the final third, securing several high profile new recruits.
