Hartlepool United defender Campbell Darcy is set to spend the first half of the 2026/27 campaign away from Victoria Park after signing on loan for National League North side Spennymoor Town until January.

The versatile youngster, who can operate at right-back, centre-half or in midfield, penned a new one-year deal with Pools earlier this month and is now preparing to head out on loan as he looks to get more senior experience under his belt.

The 20-year-old, who has featured regularly for Lee Clark's side throughout pre-season, made his Pools debut during an FA Cup clash with Stoke City in January 2023 and has gone on to make a further four substitute appearances.
