Stuart Maynard rejected approach by Hartlepool United to become club's new head coach

Pools have been on the hunt for a new head coach since Lee Clark's dramatic resignation last month.

Clark, who was only appointed in May, resigned from his role in the immediate aftermath of his side's 3-1 loss at home to newly-promoted Worthing, their sixth defeat in seven matches.

Pools have struggled to turn their dismal form around under interim head coaches Adam Clayton and Gary Liddle, losing 4-1 to Scunthorpe United before being edged out 1-0 by Harrogate Town on Tuesday night.
