Just nine games into the National League season, Pools, who were touted as potential title contenders ahead of the campaign, are on the hunt for a new head coach following Clark's dramatic resignation at the weekend.

Clark, who was only appointed in May, announced his decision to step down in the immediate aftermath of Saturday's 3-1 loss at home to newly-promoted Worthing, his side's sixth defeat in seven games.

With Pools currently languishing just a point above the relegation zone, owner Landon Smith and de facto director of football Chris Maxwell are under pressure to get their next appointment right following the ill-fated decision to hire Clark.
