Just nine games into the National League season, Pools, who were touted as possible title contenders ahead of the campaign, are on the hunt for a new head coach following Clark's dramatic resignation.

Clark, who was only appointed in May, announced his decision to the assembled media in the immediate aftermath of Saturday's 3-1 loss at home to newly-promoted Worthing, his side's sixth defeat in seven matches.

In somewhat unusual fashion, Clark, who had been the subject of criticism from the terraces throughout Saturday's game, stormed straight down the tunnel before gathering the press together and resigning from his position.
