Just nine games into the National League season, Pools, who were touted as possible title contenders ahead of the campaign, are on the hunt for a new head coach following Clark's explosive resignation.

Clark, who was only appointed in May, announced his sudden decision to step down in the immediate aftermath of Saturday's 3-1 loss at home to Adam Hinshelwood's well-oiled Worthing, their sixth defeat in seven matches.

Having received plenty of criticism from the terraces, Clark headed straight down the tunnel without acknowledging the fans before assembling the media and, in a statement lasting less than two minutes, resigning from his role.
