Hartlepool United head coach Lee Clark has lauded the "hungry" and "ambitious" Nathan Fisher after he became the club's 14th summer signing on Sunday.

Fisher was one of two new arrivals in the goalkeeping department over the weekend, following in the footsteps of Chelsea youngster Max Merrick after the 20-year-old completed a season-long loan move from Stamford Bridge.

Fisher signs for Pools having spent most of the summer on trial at Victoria Park, featuring in several pre-season friendlies.

Despite having endured a handful of nervous moments, the 21-year-old did enough to convince Clark and the Pools hierarchy he deserved a contract having been released by Middlesbrough at the end of last season.
