Hartlepool United head coach Lee Clark has hailed Cameron John as "one of the best defenders in the National League" after he sealed a permanent return to Victoria Park.
John became the club's 12th summer signing last week, with his arrival quickly followed by Chelsea youngster Max Merrick and former Middlesbrough goalkeeper Nathan Fisher.
The versatile defender, who is comfortable operating at either left-back or centre-half, represents one of the final pieces of the puzzle for Clark, who hinted after Saturday's pre-season friendly defeat to League Two Grimsby Town that his side's business was done.
