The Monkey's Uncle understands that Hartlepool United owner Landon Smith is set to travel to the North East for his side's games against Harrogate Town and Tamworth next week.
The American is set to be in attendance as Pools begin life without head coach Lee Clark, who resigned from his role on Saturday following a dismal run of six defeats in seven matches.
Having been touted as possible National League title contenders ahead of the new campaign, Pools have slumped to 18th in the table, just a point above the relegation zone.
Despite their disappointing start, Pools are only six points behind seventh placed Yeovil Town and Smith remains hopeful his side can still challenge for promotion this term.
