Former Hartlepool United attacker Jonathan Franks admits he's "quite positive" head coach Lee Clark will succeed at Victoria Park.
Clark, who was appointed Pools head coach in May following the departure of Nicky Featherstone, is bidding to lead his side to promotion back to the Football League when the new campaign kicks off in less than a fortnight's time.
To many fans, the club's decision to appoint the former Newcastle United, Sunderland and Fulham midfielder came as a real surprise.
After all, Pools had looked poised to appoint the much younger Lee Cattermole, who has since taken charge at rivals Gateshead, before talks with the 38-year-old suddenly and unexpectedly collapsed.
