Jack Hunter 'incredibly proud' to be named new Hartlepool United captain

Jack Hunter has revealed he is "incredibly proud" to have been named Hartlepool United's new captain ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
As first reported by The Monkey's Uncle on Monday, new Pools head coach Lee Clark has named the 28-year-old as his skipper, with defender Reiss McNally being appointed vice-captain.
Clark had been pondering who to name as his new captain following the departure of veteran Tom Parkes in May.
Parkes, who scored three goals in 91 appearances at Victoria Park and was a hugely popular figure in the North East, struggled with injuries throughout his final season with Pools and was among 13 players allowed to leave at the end of another underwhelming campaign. The 34-year-old has since signed for fellow National League side Tamworth.
