The Monkey's Uncle understands that Jack Hunter is set to captain Hartlepool United next season.
Reiss McNally, meanwhile, is believed to have been appointed vice-captain ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
There has been plenty of speculation about who is set to skipper the side next term, with Hunter, McNally and Nathan Sheron all wearing the armband at various stages throughout pre-season.
Head coach Lee Clark, however, remained tight-lipped when The Monkey's Uncle asked him about who was in line to lead Pools as they prepare to begin their new National League campaign with the visit of Barrow, who were relegated from League Two last term, on Saturday.
